“HEALTHY SLEEP”
"Sleep is one of the most important elements or process in our lives. It is the key factor that controls our health and appropriate functioning of our organs and organ systems".
It is vital for the normal functioning of a human being and without it, we can die. According to the statistical analysis, we sleep for 1/3 of our lives. It is directly associated with the moods of the being and this is decided by the quality of sleep. It is not the time period in which we sleep rather it is the quality of sleep that we get which promotes our good health and make us able to work properly.
Sleep is one of the most important phenomena of the human body if properly not managed can affect your physical health, emotional well-being, and your capability to concentrate on the tasks performed in daily routine. One needs a proper sleep regularly if he/ she is very active and efficient or has to perform the chores more vigilantly. According to a scientific research, it was estimated that an eight-hour sleep should be done deal otherwise one has to face serious health issues. The fist consequence is laziness; you are not able to perform your daily tasks actively.
It is a sort of rest period in which your body musters up energy for the next hectic day full of challenges and monotonous chores. It is a time in which one’s body recharges the batteries to render the duties of the next new day. In a sound and healthy sleep at night, there appears cycles of sleep in which at initial stages the brain commands signals to heart to lower the rhythm of heartbeat, muscles relax and the temperature of body lower downs. It is the initial form of sleep i.e the deep sleep where we don’t feel anything in the suburb.
The final stage refers to the light sleep where the brain commands to the heart to fasten the rhythmic beats, here the body temperature elevates, blood pressure increases and muscles stretches. It is the time where we are dreaming. In case if one wakes up during this time, he/she will witness the heavy breathing pattern, increased heart beat and sweating as a result of elevated blood pressure and body temperature.
There are a number of factors that can help in getting a sound and healthy sleep. One can try these out to get a good sleep and prepare his/herself for the next day. A hot bath or oil therapy, relaxation techniques like breathing patterns can help in getting a sound sleep. Taking any sort of milky drink, setting a standard time for getting into bed, clearing all junk of the whole day and making your mind relaxed and checking the intake of caffeine and alcohol can help to get a proper sleep.
In a case of any disruption in one’s sleep, it may lead to serious consequences that are related to both mental and physical health. It can detract from overall well-being. Lack of sleep can lead to obesity that is itself a precursor for various chronic diseases such as cardiac issues, issues related to gastro-intestinal tract due to over eating and various other health related issues. Hence proved that a sound sleep is not only important for mental and emotional stability rather it is also important for physical health and staying fit.
